Kaamulan Festival

Kaamulan Festival

Kaamulan 2012

You guys know that I’ve been struggling lately with my A.K.A busy schedule. Last week, I mention about Kaamulan Festival. Yes, I’ve been in Malaybalay for 2 nights and 2 days and of course, I left CDO with my friends making sure that I celebrated my mom’s birthday! 😀 That shouldn’t what I missed, right?!

with peri, the others were at the back 🙂

Uhm, what’s funny while we were still on the bus, there are a lot of thoughts coming in my mind and I can’t help it. So I asked my friends if they have some paper or something that I can write on then they told me: ‘Shira, we’re going to Kaamulan to enjoy not to do some school stuff’. (teasing me..really 😛 ) Well, writing is been so attach to me. Why I’m so eager to write? Well, who wouldn’t if you see this?

see?

I swear! It’s hard to get the perfect view while on the bus! 😛 Took it from my phone, sun is setting! 😉

We arrived at Malaybalay past 8 pm, traveled for almost 5hrs. Jeez, my butt quite sucks. LOL. Bus fare doesn’t sound bad! We stayed at Meriam’s aunt house at San Jose but before that, we stopped by to her other aunt’s house at Carvahal to have some dinner. Meriam’s dad was staying there and jeez, he is so accommodating. Palamine Family are accommodating!

the girls who made it 😀

Meriam’s aunt make pizza! Homemade .. yaYks!

We woke up around 6 am, fixing ourselves then head to the city to watch the street dancing!

hola

I belong to the flowers, am I? 😛

Mini garden of the house! Beautiful, isn’t?

Unfortunately, we arrived in the city late so we only saw the last three or four of the participants.

Walking with “Kadang-Kadang” you need a balance and focus. One thing to do this is practice. Jeez, I don’t know how to walk with that. Back in HS in our P.E, I didn’t have a chance to try it, the bell rang! LOL

There were so align , holding arm to arm!

Eagle! Flying high?

After the parade, sweet corn escapade! 😀

At first Peri, Sara and I hesitate to buy cos we were still full at that time we had a heavy breakfast but Meriam and Hana simply made us lick our lips! LOL

I went down after we back home for awhile at Carvahal! 😛

Suddenly I got tired, didn’t know that I took a nap 😛 and when I woke up, jeez… legs cramps! Then the girls decided to go back home to San Jose to rest a little bit cos there will be fireworks display late at night.

Unlucky gals!

Whooo… okay, we ride ‘Multicab’ going back to San Jose and we were lucky, at the middle of nowhere… flat tire dude! (“Flat tire get tired” ~ Tongue Twister for you guys 😛 )

I love the Nature 🙂

But heck nooo, we were stuck in the beautiful area. Nature around us! 😀

The lady in grey, standing next to meriam it’s Chimbe. Meriam’s cousin!

hmmm, cos the first multicab was stuck we waited for another vehicle. T’was a bad experience because the driver deceived us, ladies. Cos we were not that familiar yet going to San Jose, we asked him to drop us in Luardo(landmark) but he didn’t. So the gals needed to walk 10-15 min under the sun to the house, we start walking(sweating much) 😦 but surprisingly driver hurried up to still catch up us and you know what he said to us? “Hey you should take a ride, Luardo is still far from here”! Damn dude, O.O we were really disappointed! Obviously, we’re going to pay again for that ride! It wasn’t money but how he treated people who are new the place is what matter most!

Ehem 😛

Okay! Night comes! 😀 Honestly, fireworks is what we supposed to wait at night but there’s a change of course. We were early indeed in Plateu 😛 We only got a glimpse to the beautiful fireworks 😛 Dang! LOL

Saturday night was fun, really.

What we experienced at the daylight was opposite when I and Meriam heading home to San Jose. There’s a guy name James. There’s no multicab yet and it was raining, not that heavy tho enough to make us soaked in the rain but not that much so he offered us a ride. Kuya_James is so kind. We ride in his motorbike and we were supposed to pay for it but he didn’t let us to give him even a single penny! Wow. Thank You so much Kuya_James for your kind heart! 😀

Peri and I 😀

Among the girls, only Peri and I weren’t able to come to Kaamulan last year and the three gals always telling us that there’s an amazing spot there! And here it, I forgot to ask Meriam what’s the name of the place.

I love greens!

too far 😛

more closer ~ loving it 😀

I Love Nature! Live Naturally, Shira! Treehugger! 😀 😀

Before we head to the terminal, we took our lunch at Carvahal. I’m not a fan of Chicken Curry but dude, Palamine family cooked it well and I’m loving it much now! Whew…

Happy Blogging Everyone!

A Festival coming nearer … but hell NO!!!

Kaamulan (via wikipedia)

Kaamulan Festival is an ethnic cultural festival held annually in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon from the second half of February to March 10, the anniversary date of the foundation of Bukidnon as a province in 1917. It is held to celebrate the culture and tradition of the seven ethnic tribal groups—Bukidnon, Higaonon, Talaandig, Manobo, Matigsalug, Tigwahanon and Umayamnon—that originally inhabit the province. It is the only ethnic festival in the Philippines. I came to know this festival last year, some of my friends enjoyed it much. I wasn’t able to be with them cos I don’t have much penny at that time. Not surprisingly cos I spend a lot. LOL 😛 You know, my friends really convincing me to come next year which suppose to be this 2012. Well, they don’t need to persuade me cos I’d love to come and enjoy watching some street dancing. So here we go Kaamulan 2012 is here… even last year we were so excited about this most awaited event. BUT. There’s a but. I’m so excited without even planning so well. Hell, I didn’t check the calendar dates. It’s important in planning, isn’t it?!

The BUT is, my friend just confirm that her father agree that we will stay in their place at Malaybalay, Bukidnon. Street Dancing is set on March 3, Saturday. It’s the main event. So, we will suppose to be there the day before the Saturday which is Friday, March 2. Well, March 2 is my mama’s birthday! I can’t miss that day out! It’s my mama. Kaamulan doesn’t really love me!

Speaking of mama’s birthday… any suggestion on what to do for her? LOL. Okay, every birthday..cake is always there, my sissy always got us one. 😀 The day before another day.. LOL confusing so.. few days ago, papa teasingly asked mama what she gonna prepare for her bday. Mama got always this beautiful yummy imagination… she mention ‘Mango Float‘ and blah blah blah, then papa cracked her up again saying ‘hey, wake up‘. LOL he’s bad 😛 ahaha

If I could only be given enough, I would certainly bring her to CANADA. LOL. Why? Well, I don’t know why mama love’s Canada.

Every time I ask her if where is she going every time she step out in the door, she always drop this line; always even before I start loving Canada:

Me: Where are you going ma?

Mama: I’m going to Canada! (with matching laugh)

Ahaha, and every time she’ll say that, I’m always looking for a word “OH” … LOL

Mama is lil crazy 😛
